Srinagar, May 4: The weather department in Srinagar has predicted generally cloudy conditions with light rain and thunder expected in a few places across Jammu and Kashmir over the next 24 hours.
According to a meteorological department official, between May 5 and May 10, the region is expected to experience generally dry weather, although afternoon thundershowers may occur in some areas.
From May 11 to May 13, generally cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall in higher reaches is anticipated in many places. Additionally, there is a possibility of thunder activity in a few places during these days.
Regarding temperatures, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 11.0°C, which is 1.3°C higher than the previous night and above normal for this time of year. Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kokernag, and Kupwara also recorded temperatures above normal.
However, Gulmarg, the renowned skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, recorded a minimum temperature of 3.5°C, slightly below normal. In Jammu, the temperature dropped to 22.1°C, below normal for this time of year.
Banihal recorded a minimum temperature of 11.4°C, while Batote recorded 13.5°C.
