New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi drew parallels between Congress and Pakistan during a campaign rally in Gujarat, asserting that Pakistani leaders are hoping for Rahul Gandhi to become India’s prime minister. He remarked on the irony of Congress’s decline coinciding with Pakistan’s concerns, stating that Pakistan is now rooting for Congress. Modi accused Congress of being a follower of Pakistan and highlighted what he called a partnership between the two, which he claimed has now been fully revealed.
Furthermore, Modi criticized the INDIA bloc, alleging that its leaders are advocating for ‘Vote Jihad’, a term he equated with previous controversial concepts like ‘love jihad’ and ‘land jihad’. This remark was made in reference to a statement by Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s niece, Maria Alam Khan.
Modi also accused Congress of attempting to allocate reservations meant for backward classes to Muslims, suggesting that the party aims to change India’s Constitution for this purpose. He challenged Congress to provide written assurance that they will not amend the Constitution to grant religious-based reservations.
