Srinagar, Apr 29: Due to landslides and shooting stones triggered by snow and rainfall, the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, Mughal road, and Srinagar-Leh road have been closed for traffic since last night, officials reported on Monday.
Rohit Baskotra, SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban, that landslides and shooting stones occurred near Mehad, Kishtwadi Patthar, and Gangr Ramsoo areas, leading to the closure of the highway. Despite efforts to clear the debris, continuous rain is impeding the clearance work.
Baskotra advised people to refrain from traveling on the highway until the weather improves and the road is cleared.
In addition to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the Mughal Road, Srinagar-Leh highway, and other major roads in the Kashmir Valley are also shut due to the inclement weather.
