PM Modi to Conduct Election Campaigns in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan Today

New Delhi, April 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to engage with the residents of Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir and Barmer in Rajasthan on Friday. Additionally, he will lead a roadshow in Dausa, Rajasthan, later in the day.

Expressing his anticipation for the day’s events, PM Modi shared his excitement about connecting with the people of Jammu-Kashmir and Rajasthan, stating, “In this great festival of democracy, the echo of BJP is being heard all over the country. Today I will get the opportunity to receive the blessings of my family members of Jammu-Kashmir and Rajasthan.”

The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes interactions with the people of Udhampur in the morning and Barmer in the afternoon, followed by a roadshow in Dausa.

PM Modi will be extending his support to Union Minister Jitendra Singh, the incumbent representative of Udhampur since 2014. Singh, who defeated former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in 2014, faces opposition from Congress’ Choudhary Lal Singh, supported by the Peoples Democratic Party, a partner in the INDIA bloc.

In Barmer, the BJP has nominated Kailash Choudhary to contest against Congress’ Umaidaram Beniwal. In Dausa, BJP’s Kanhaiya Lal Meena will be contesting against Congress’ Murari Lal Meena.

Rajasthan, with 25 seats in the Lok Sabha, will go to polls in two phases on April 19 and 26, with vote counting scheduled for June 4. In 2014, the BJP secured all 25 seats in the state, a feat repeated in 2019, with the BJP-led alliance winning all 25 seats, including 24 by BJP alone.
