JAMMU, Mar 28: The notification for the Jammu Lok Sabha seat, which is scheduled for polls on April 26, was issued on Thursday, confirmed an election official. The Jammu Lok Sabha constituency is among the 88 segments across the country slated for the polls in the second phase on April 26.
Jammu District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya, also the returning officer for the constituency, issued the notification for filing nominations. The deadline for filing nominations is April 4, while the scrutiny of papers will take place on April 6. Candidates have until April 8 to withdraw their candidature, officials stated.
The BJP has named its sitting MP Jugal Kishore as the party’s candidate for the Jammu seat, while the Congress has announced the candidacy of its working J-K president and former minister Raman Bhalla.
