New Delhi, Mar 26: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of “misleading” the public regarding its pledge to provide two crore jobs every year, prompting youth across the nation to question if they were deceived.
He emphasized the need for youth to take charge of their destinies, breaking free from the illusions spun by the BJP. Gandhi reiterated Congress’s commitment to spearheading an employment revolution through the ‘Yuva Nyay’ initiative, a pre-election promise aimed at empowering the youth.
Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly, Gandhi raised doubts about the BJP’s employment strategy, questioning the lack of a concrete plan. He highlighted Congress’s proposed measures, including the creation of 30 lakh government positions, offering jobs worth Rs 1 lakh annually to educated youth under the ‘Pehli Naukri Pakki’ scheme, and enacting laws to combat paper leaks.
The Congress has intensified its criticism of the BJP government over rising unemployment, intending to make it a focal point in the upcoming Lok Sabha election campaign.
Gandhi underscored the divergence in ideologies between the two parties, asserting that while Congress aims to empower the youth, BJP seeks to mislead them. He urged youth to seize control of their futures and advocate for an “employment revolution” in the country.
The Lok Sabha polls are slated to take place between April 19 and June 1.
