Jammu and Kashmir Expected to Experience Rain and Snow for Two Days

Srinagar, March 21: The Meteorological (MeT) office has forecasted rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir over the next 48 hours. With the sky covered in clouds, the MeT department anticipates precipitation across many areas in the region during this period. Additionally, inclement weather conditions, including thunder, lightning, and gusty winds, are expected in the plains of Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

On Thursday, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.9 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg and Pahalgam recorded 3.2 and 3 degrees Celsius, respectively. In the Ladakh region, Leh witnessed a minimum temperature of 1.9 degrees Celsius, while Kargil and Drass experienced temperatures of minus 4.2 and minus 5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Meanwhile, in Jammu city, the minimum temperature was recorded at 18.4 degrees Celsius. Other areas in the region, including Katra, Batote, Bhaderwah, and Banihal, recorded minimum temperatures ranging from 16.1 to 9 degrees Celsius.
