Srinagar, Mar 20: National Conference leader Omar Abdullah stated on Wednesday that the Centre is exerting considerable effort to defeat the National Conference in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Abdullah emphasized that the NC takes no election lightly and is diligently preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to reporters while leaving the party office in Srinagar, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir highlighted the challenges faced in past elections and the resilience demonstrated by the NC despite adverse circumstances.
“We don’t take any elections lightly, we are making our preparations and we hope to win,” he affirmed.
Responding to queries regarding the emergence of a potential third front comprising local parties in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah downplayed its significance, citing past instances where similar alliances were formed. He expressed readiness to face any challenge posed by such developments, underscoring the NC’s preparedness for the electoral contest.
“We are ready for this test,” he asserted, in reference to speculation surrounding a possible alliance between DPAP led by Ghulam Nabi Azad and Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari.
