SBI Informs Supreme Court, 22,217 Electoral Bonds Purchased Between April 1, 2019, and February 15, 2024

New Delhi, March 13th: State Bank of India (SBI) Informs Supreme Court: 22,217 Electoral Bonds Purchased and 22,030 Redeemed by Political Parties Between April 1, 2019, and February 15, 2024

On Wednesday, the State Bank of India (SBI) revealed to the Supreme Court that a total of 22,217 electoral bonds were purchased and 22,030 were redeemed by political parties between April 1, 2019, and February 15, 2024.

In a compliance affidavit submitted to the apex court, SBI stated that it has provided the Election Commission of India with electoral bond details as per the court’s directives before the close of business hours on March 12th.

The affidavit further mentioned that comprehensive details, including the purchase date of each electoral bond, the names of purchasers, and the denomination of the bonds bought, have been furnished.
