New Delhi, March 13 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticized the BJP’s move to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) before the Lok Sabha polls, labeling it as “dirty vote bank politics.” Kejriwal emphasized that the public desires the repeal of this law, alleging that it paves the way for a substantial influx of impoverished minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh into India.
During a press conference, Kejriwal argued that the BJP’s agenda involves settling poor migrants from neighboring countries, thereby potentially creating a new vote bank for the party. He condemned the CAA’s implementation as a strategic move by the BJP to gain political advantage in the upcoming elections.
Kejriwal urged for the CAA’s abolishment, stressing that the nation’s populace demands its repeal. He encouraged people to vote against the BJP if the law remains intact. The CAA aims to provide citizenship to undocumented non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan who arrived in India before December 31, 2014.
