IPPI Prog2024; Army join hands with Admin to reach out maximum children to administer 2 drops of PP in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah : Like other parts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir, despite inclement weather conditions the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme 2024 for the children between 0-5 years age started in District Doda on Sunday. In a great initiative Indian Army also join hands to reach out to maximum children for the vaccination.

DC Doda Harvinder Singh inaugurated the Pulse Polio Immunization Day by administering anti-polio drops to the children at District Hospital Doda.

Beside Health and other civil departments, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles based at Bhaderwah also joined hands with Administration and Health authorities to reach out maximum children under the age group of 0-5 years.

Army established special Polio booth at Domail Bhaderwah where beside nearby areas, the childrens residing in far-off villages and those travelling in vehicles were also administered two drops of PP by Army doctors and their teams.

Dr Iftikhar Malik, Nodal Officer of IPP Campaign along Dr Bhim Singh visited different booths to take stock of the comprehensive immunization programme.

Despite inclement weather conditions a large number of people participated in the 1st day of Intensified Pulse Polio campaign in Bhaderwah and other areas of district Doda..

According to District Immunization Officer Doda Dr Versha Sharma, there are arroud 55532 children below the age of five. Around 507 booths has been set up across Doda district. Apart from this, transit booths were also located at bus stands and 25 religious places.

“The door-to-door Campaign will be started from Tomarrow morning in which staff has been engaged to ensure full Immunization of the area,” Dr Varsha added.

Elaborate arrangements were made by the department for conducting of the pulse polio programme successfully.

While speaking on the aim’s and objectives of the programme, Dr Iftikhar Malik said that Polio Immunization programme is a campaign established by the Government of India to vaccinate all children under the age of five years against Polio virus, to stand Polio free.

He said Army has also extended there services for the successful conduct of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme 2024.
