MUMBAI, February 26: Iconic ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas, renowned for hits like “Chitti Ayee Hai” and “Aur Ahista Kijiye Baatein,” passed away in Mumbai on Monday after battling a prolonged illness, as confirmed by his daughter Nayab. The legendary singer, aged 72, had also left an indelible mark as a playback singer in numerous Hindi films, including “Naam,” “Saajan,” and “Mohra.” The demise occurred around 11 am at Breach Candy hospital, according to a family source.
“It is with a heavy heart that we convey the sad news of the demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on February 26, 2024, due to a prolonged illness,” Nayab announced in an Instagram post.
