In a statement issued by District Doda Police it was told that a habitual and notorious drug peddler namely Yasir Ahmed alias Thopa S/O Abdul Majeed R/O Sadiqabad, Doda has been booked under PSA for his active involvement in series of criminal activities of grave nature like peddling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances etc and lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah under the order passed by District Magistrate Doda. It will not be exaggerated to mention here that he was incessantly involved in drug peddling which was harmful to youth of the area and he was spoiling the future of young people by supplying contraband substance to them and a sense of insecurity was created among the parents of youth of the area. A number of FIRs under NDPS act and reports of his involvement in drug peddling were registered against him in Police Station Doda and being a habitual offender and dealer of black trade, his activities bears the potential to create extreme law and order situation and serious threat to the local youth of this District. His detention under PSA will definitely act as deterrence to the criminals and drug smugglers still a large and will also save precious life of number of innocent youth of the locality. Doda Police has appealed and sought cooperation from the general public to provide information /input about drug peddling, drug addiction and selling of intoxicant drugs, Doda Police has launched special Anti-Drug Help Line (WhatsApp No. 9103317362) in PCR Doda and general public is informed that if any drug peddling /drug addiction is noticed in their areas, feel free to call or WhatsApp on this number and the identity of the caller /complaint will be kept secret. Doda Police has also warned the smugglers to desist from smuggling of drugs and other criminal activities, else stringent action as warranted under law shall be taken against them which includes detention under PSA and attachment of property of habitual offenders.
