BENGALURU, Jan 5: ISRO announced on Friday the successful flight test of a fuel cell aimed at evaluating its performance in space conditions and gathering essential data for designing systems for upcoming missions. These fuel cells, known for their efficiency and environmentally friendly water emission, represent the future of power production in space habitats, according to the national space agency headquartered in Bengaluru.
The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre/ISRO accomplished the successful testing of a 100 W class Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell based Power System (FCPS) on its orbital platform POEM3. The test was conducted aboard PSLV-C58, which was launched on January 1.
