Karnataka Health Minister Advises Senior Citizens to Wear Masks Amid COVID Surge in Kerala

Karnataka : Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has reassured the state’s preparedness in the face of increasing Covid cases in neighboring Kerala. Advising senior citizens with co-morbidities to wear masks, he highlighted the government’s vigilance and readiness to tackle any situation. Speaking in Kodagu, Rao mentioned plans for issuing a detailed advisory and emphasized the state’s proactive measures. Hospitals in districts bordering Kerala have been directed to stay alert, with an increase in testing also on the agenda.

Addressing concerns, Rao urged the public not to panic, assuring that the situation is well under control. He is scheduled to meet with the Technical Advisory Committee on Covid, led by Dr. K Ravi, to discuss and strategize preparedness measures. Stressing the importance of readiness, Rao emphasized the lessons learned from past experiences, stating, “We should be prepared and not allow a disaster to happen.
