Following the Approval of Key Jammu and Kashmir Bills in Rajya Sabha, Significant Legislative Agenda Awaited in Both Houses During Winter Session

Jammu and Kashmir : Following the approval of the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2023 by the Rajya Sabha, the Parliament is set for crucial discussions during the ongoing Winter Session. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is scheduled to present the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023, for consideration and passage in the Rajya Sabha. Additionally, Meghwal will move the Repealing and Amending Bill, 2023. Other agenda items include the presentation of reports by various MPs on topics such as Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules, 2017, and the government’s action on observations/recommendations related to the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and Renewable Energy Sector. The parliamentary proceedings are expected to cover a wide range of significant issues during Tuesday’s session.
