Transformative Reforms of Last Decade Reflected in India’s GDP Growth: Modi

GANDHINAGAR, Dec 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that India’s GDP growth of 7.7 per cent in the first half of the current fiscal year reflects the nation’s robust economy and the transformative reforms implemented over the past decade. Speaking at the ‘Infinity Forum 2.0’ conference in GIFT City via video link, Modi expressed his government’s vision to elevate Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City into a global hub for cutting-edge global financial and technology services.

“In the first six months of this financial year, India has achieved a GDP growth of 7.7 per cent… Today, the entire world has pinned its hopes on India, and this did not happen just on its own. This is a reflection of India’s strengthening economy and also the transformative reforms carried out in the last 10 years,” remarked Modi during his inaugural address.

Acknowledging India’s position as one of the world’s fastest-growing fintech markets, Modi emphasized that GIFT International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) is emerging as its focal point. He called upon experts to contribute ideas for creating a market mechanism for green credits. Additionally, the Prime Minister extended congratulations to the people of Gujarat for the inclusion of the state’s traditional Garba dance in UNESCO’s ‘Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’.
