New Delhi, Dec 9 : In a recent development, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell successfully apprehended two individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal gang after a brief exchange of gunfire in the Vasant Kunj area on Friday night. The apprehended individuals, identified as Anish (23) and a 15-year-old juvenile, were reportedly tasked with carrying out a shooting outside a prominent South Delhi hotel for extortion purposes. The duo allegedly received instructions from Amit, who is currently incarcerated in a Punjab jail, acting on the orders of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, a cousin of Lawrence Bishnoi suspected to be hiding in Canada. Although Anmol Bishnoi is in Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail, Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged there. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the exchange of gunfire, where the accused fired five rounds, and police retaliated with two rounds in self-defense. The police successfully seized two pistols, four live cartridges, and a motorcycle. Anish has been implicated in six cases of armed robbery, the Arms Act, and assault, while the juvenile is linked to an armed robbery case in Haryana’s Rohtak district.
