Srinagar, Dec 4: Night temperatures in Kashmir witness a further decline, with multiple locations registering below-freezing temperatures, according to officials from the local Meteorological department.
Pahalgam emerged as the coldest, recording a temperature of minus 3.4 degrees Celsius. Several other places, including Qazigund, Kupwara, and Gulmarg, also reported temperatures below freezing point. In Kupwara, the mercury settled at minus 2.5 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag recorded a low of 0.8 degrees Celsius. The renowned ski-resort, Gulmarg, experienced a temperature of minus 3.0 degrees Celsius, making it the second coldest. Qazigund in South Kashmir recorded a low of minus 0.4 degrees Celsius.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, reported a minimum temperature of 0.7 degrees Celsius. The weather forecast indicates that dry and cloudy conditions will persist until December 10, as per the meteorological predictions.
