Srinagar, Dec 4 : A joinery mill and four residences faced significant damage in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir due to a fire that broke out late on Sunday night, as per officials on Monday. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
The Fire and Emergency Services Department dispatched fire tenders to the scene, successfully extinguishing the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that the fire originated in the residence of Ghulam Ahmad Najar at Kanlibagh in Baramulla and subsequently spread to adjacent houses and the mill. Quick response from nearby army personnel, along with assistance from local residents and police, played a crucial role in containing the fire.
“The swift action averted the spread of the fire to other houses in the vicinity,” noted the official.
