Kupwara, Nov 28: In response to the recent discovery of arms and ammunition in Kupwara district, the Indian Army has heightened its vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC), aiming to thwart potential infiltration attempts, as stated by an army official on Tuesday.
Following the recovery on Monday, where two individuals were apprehended, the Army issued an official statement emphasizing its unwavering commitment to national security. The statement highlighted the Army’s constant vigilance on the LoC in Kupwara, with a dedicated mission to protect borders and ensure the nation’s safety.
Describing the LoC as a critical barrier between India and Pakistan, the official noted that the region has witnessed numerous infiltrations and security threats in the past. The Indian Army, equipped with extensive training, advanced surveillance systems, and meticulous planning, employs a multi-layered defense mechanism to counter potential infiltrations.
Through a combination of regular patrols, state-of-the-art technologies, and intelligence gathering, the Army gathers critical information on any suspicious activities near the LoC. This intelligence is promptly analyzed and acted upon to neutralize any infiltrators before they can enter Indian territory.
The official underscored the soldiers’ dedication, emphasizing that they put their lives on the line day in and day out to preserve the integrity of the nation. The commitment and willingness of the soldiers to face any challenge in defense of their motherland deserve utmost respect and admiration, the official added.
As part of Operation GUSHI, a Mobile Vehicle Interception Post (MVIP) was established at Gushi Bridge in Kupwara on Monday. In a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, the MVIP led to the apprehension of two suspected individuals and the recovery of four hand grenades, one pistol with ammunition, and other incriminating materials.
