Promptly Address Issues of Common People, Urges President Murmu

NEW DELHI, Nov 24: President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the duty of civil servants to respond promptly to public grievances and adopt innovative measures for the benefit of citizens. During a meeting with a group of officer trainees at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, she underscored the importance of considering public feedback on government schemes and projects for efficient and accountable administration.

President Murmu highlighted the current landscape where people can instantly post their grievances on social media, emphasizing the increased need to utilize updated governance tools and advanced technology for efficient service delivery. Addressing the officer trainees undergoing the 98th special foundation course at the Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) in Gurugram, she urged them to take innovative measures beneficial to citizens in the short and long term.

With the advent of the latest technologies, President Murmu mentioned terms like electronic governance, smart governance, and effective governance, emphasizing the importance of fast and efficient service delivery. She stressed that good governance signifies citizen-centric governance, with public feedback considered crucial for efficient and accountable administration.

President Murmu reminded civil servants of their responsibility to strengthen the unity and integration of the nation. She urged them to work towards achieving the goal of inclusive development and promote ‘jan bhagidari’ (people’s partnership) to realize the objectives of various programs. Emphasizing cooperation and collaboration with all stakeholders, including the private sector, non-government sector, and informed citizens, she highlighted that the goal of a developed India can be achieved through collective efforts.

President Murmu concluded by reminding civil servants that they have been selected to serve the nation, and aligning individual goals with the overall goals of the country should be their prime objective. She encouraged them to be ready and prepared to face challenges and convert them into opportunities in the journey of national development.
