PM Modi Commends Indian Para Archery Team’s Victory in Asian Event

New Delhi, Nov 23:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the outstanding performance of the Indian contingent at the Asian Para Archery Championships, deeming it historic. He praised the athletes for securing a total of 9 medals, including 4 gold medals, marking their best-ever showing at the Championships. Modi expressed his admiration for each athlete’s contribution and urged them to continue making the nation proud.

Highlighting the triumphant moment in Bangkok, Modi acknowledged the Indian Para Archery team’s phenomenal performance, asserting that they had etched their names in the history books. Rakesh Kumar, ranked 5th in the world, played a pivotal role by clinching a hat-trick of gold medals, leading India to surpass heavyweights South Korea and secure the top spot in the medal standings with a total of nine medals.

India’s medal tally included four gold, four silver, and one bronze, while South Korea settled for the second position with five medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze). Modi celebrated the historic achievement and conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the Para Archery team.

In a separate acknowledgment, Modi extended congratulations to the Wushu champions Roshibina Devi, Kushal Kumar, and Chavi for their medal-winning performances at the 16th World Wushu Championship held in the USA. Recognizing their determination and skill, he expressed confidence that their success would contribute to the increased popularity of Wushu in India. Modi conveyed his best wishes to the champions for their future endeavors.
