Airdropped Payload: Grenades, IED, and Pistol Delivered by Drone in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor Region

Jammu (Akhnoor) : On November 23, security forces successfully intercepted and recovered a consignment of arms, ammunition, and explosives, including nine grenades and an improvised explosive device (IED), in the Akhnoor sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu. The recovery was made during a joint search operation conducted by the police and the Army in Palanwallah near the LoC in the early morning hours. Upon discovering a suspicious box, the bomb disposal squad was deployed, revealing the presence of an IED, a pistol, two magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, and nine grenades inside the package.

Authorities suspect that the drone dropped this payload with the intention of supplying it to terrorists. The box’s resemblance to those previously dropped by terrorists from across the LoC further supports this belief. An FIR has been registered at the Khour police station, and investigations are underway to trace the source and unravel the motives behind the attempt to deliver these illicit materials.
