Bhaderwah residents took out peaceful Candlelight march to pay respect to Doda accident victims

Bhaderwah, Nov 21 : To express their solidarity to Doda accident victims, Residents of Bhaderwah held a peaceful candlelight march on Monday evening in memory of 39 persons, who died in a road accident near Assar area of Doda on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway.

The residents and business community including President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Bhaderwah Varinder Razdan, YAC President Naseer Mehboob, Vice President MC Bhaderwah Rishi Kotwal, Sr Leader BJP Neeraj Manhas, Social Activist Taraq Batt and Shopkeepers held a candlelight march on Monday evening praying for deceased victims for eternal peace and early recovery to injured persons.

It is notable that 39 people were died while 18 persons got injured in an accident where a passenger Bus fell into deep gorge at Assar area of Doda on November 15.

More than 50 people including Civil society and business community from both communities joined by locals lit candles and held posters to express solidarity with the families of victims in the accident and to pay their respects.

While speaking President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Bhaderwah Varinder Razdan demanded an unbiased investigation in the accident case, which claimed more than 3 dozen lives and injuring over 2 dozen.

“While a few minor accidents have happened on the roads in different areas of District Doda but an accident of this scale was never seen before, “said YAC President Naseer Mehboob.

They also appreciated aftermath actions by Police, MVD and Traffic police but said that if it was done earlier, the huge loss was averted.
