VHP Plans to Establish Village Committees for Empowering Hindus Residing in Slums in Jammu and Kashmir

JAMMU, Nov 20 : In a recent announcement on Monday, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) revealed plans to establish village-level committees dedicated to empowering disadvantaged sections of the Hindu community, particularly those residing in slums throughout Jammu and Kashmir. According to Devji Bhai Rawat, the VHP’s national secretary, these committees will oversee various programs, including skill development training, aimed at uplifting Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Hindus in slum and forest areas.

Rawat, who chaired a meeting with organization office bearers to finalize the program, explained that the skill development training targets uneducated youth, providing them with the necessary skills to secure livelihoods for their families. The VHP is actively engaged in social awareness campaigns to ensure justice and respect for the weaker sections within the Hindu community.

Highlighting efforts to eradicate untouchability among Hindus, Rawat mentioned the organization’s commitment to celebrating the birth anniversaries of social reformers such as Dr. BR Ambedkar, Sant Ravidas, Maharishi Valmiki, Sant Kabir, and Ramanujacharya alongside the weaker sections.

Rawat also extended an invitation to the Hindus of Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya scheduled for January 22.
