Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Reduces Online Atka Aarti Fee for Pilgrims

JAMMU, Nov 20: Providing substantial relief to pilgrims, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has announced a reduction in the Atka Aarti fee for those utilizing the facility through online reservations. The revised fee structure now allows a group of four individuals, including two adults and two children (up to 10 years old), to attend the Atka Aarti for a total of Rs 5100, in contrast to the previous fee of Rs 2000 per person.

According to a Shrine Board official, this discounted fee is exclusively applicable to groups utilizing online booking services. For pilgrims opting for on-the-spot booking, the fee remains at Rs 2000 per person, with additional charges for accommodation at Bhawan. Accommodation facilities are inclusive for those making online reservations.

The official also noted that the expanded infrastructure now permits 400 to 500 devotees to attend the Aarti simultaneously. The Atka Aarti is conducted near the old natural cave in both morning and evening sessions, attracting devotees who have pre-applied for the experience.

This revised fee structure is expected to remain effective until February, after which it will undergo a review for potential continuation. The decision to reduce the fee aims to encourage more devotees to avail themselves of the facility, particularly during the period between November and February, characterized by a lower influx of pilgrims.

An official spokesperson emphasized, “We are confident that more devotees will take advantage of this facility, especially between November and February, when there is no huge rush of pilgrims.” Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Chief Executive Officer, Anshul Garg, has confirmed the decision to slash the fee for Atka Aarti.
