DLSA Bhaderwah celebrates UT Foundation Day and launched Cleanliness drive

BHADERWAH , Oct 31—— In a resplendent celebration of unity and progress, the District Legal Services Authority, Bhaderwah , under the aegis of the Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority commemorated the “UT Foundation Day” with a grand event that left an indelible mark on all participants. The event was organized under the able guidance of Pr District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah and Chairman DLSA Sunit Gupta. A significant highlight of the event was the gracious presence of Ramesh Lal , Secretary of DLSA ( Sub Judge ) Bhaderwah , who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Panel Lawyer Advocate Mohd Majid Malik delivered a powerful address that shed light on the remarkable transformation in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir since the year 2019. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 came into force on October 31 and as a result, 37 central laws which were not applicable to the union territory of J&K is now be applicable which included the Indian Penal Code, 1860, Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, Representation Of People Act, 1950, Census Act 1948 and Prevention Of Corruption Act, 1988, Income-Tax Act, 1961, Protection Of Human Rights Act, 1993, Official Languages Act, 1963, Press Council Act, 1978, Press and Registration Of Books Act, 1867, Insolvency And Bankruptcy Code, 2016, Census Act, 1948, Public Debt Act, 1944, Indian Forest Act, 1927 and All India Services Act, 1951. Advocate Mohd Majid Malik also informed that according to Section 96 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, the Central Government has requisite powers to make adaptations and modifications of the laws whether by way of repeal or amendment.“The UT Foundation Day celebration is not just a mark on the calendar; it’s a celebration of our journey towards a more prosperous and harmonious society,” emphasized Adv Mohd Majid Malik . As part of the celebration, a “Swachhata Hi Sewa” cleanliness drive was also conducted within the premises of District Court Complex Bhaderwah.
