CHANDIGARH, October 28: In a significant development, the Punjab Police announced the dismantling of a terror module and the apprehension of four individuals associated with the proscribed extremist organization, Babbar Khalsa International. The arrests come as part of a major operation targeting the group, which was allegedly assigned the task of executing targeted killings.
The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, reported that the police operation had also resulted in the confiscation of six pistols and 275 cartridges from the arrested individuals.
Taking to social media to share this breakthrough, Yadav declared, “In a major breakthrough, @sasnagarpolice has busted a terrorist module and arrested 4 operatives of outfit BKI (Babar Khalsa International). The BKI module was tasked for targeted killings.”
Furthermore, the state’s police chief revealed that the terror module had received support from Harvinder Rinda, a terrorist based in Pakistan. Rinda was allegedly aiding them with logistical assistance, facilitated by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Of particular concern was the utilization of drones for smuggling weapons from Pakistan, further emphasizing the sophisticated and transnational nature of the operation.
