Inaugurating the two-day Air Force Commanders’ Conference, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stressed the importance of analyzing and adapting to emerging trends in air warfare to bolster India’s defense preparedness. He encouraged the Indian Air Force (IAF) to prioritize strengthening air defense systems, utilizing drones, and advancing in aerospace to safeguard India’s air domain.

Addressing the audience, Singh noted the evolving challenges arising from the global security scenario, emphasizing the need for readiness to address these challenges effectively.

During the conference, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari, briefed the defence minister on the operational preparedness of the IAF. Singh underlined the significance of enhancing operational readiness and emphasized the importance of joint planning and execution of operations by all three services. He urged IAF commanders to closely examine the rapidly changing global geopolitical landscape and assess its implications within the Indian context.

Singh commended the IAF for its outstanding role in recent Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions in Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and other flood-affected areas. He also congratulated the IAF for the successful organization of the Air Force Day Parade and Air Display in Prayagraj, which garnered widespread appreciation.

The bi-annual Air Force Commanders’ Conference serves as a platform for discussions on charting the IAF’s future direction, taking into account the current geopolitical environment and technological requirements. The conference also includes presentations from eminent national security experts and accomplished individuals from various fields who will share their perspectives on relevant topics.
