United Nations, Oct 25: India has stated that it will respond to Pakistan’s reference to Kashmir during a UN Security Council meeting on the Israel-Gaza situation with the contempt it believes it deserves and will not engage with it further. These comments were made by India’s Deputy Permanent Representative at the UN, Ambassador R. Ravindra, in response to Pakistan’s UN envoy Munir Akram mentioning Kashmir during the Security Council meeting on the Middle East situation.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during the same meeting, emphasized that all acts of terrorism, whether perpetrated by groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba or Hamas, are considered unlawful and unjustifiable. He stressed the right of nations to defend themselves and prevent such acts of terrorism. Blinken called on the Security Council to denounce member states that support or fund terrorist groups like Hamas.
Blinken’s remarks appeared to reference the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks carried out by the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.
