New Delhi, Oct 13 : The Congress top leadership convened a significant meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee on Friday to deliberate on potential candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. The party emphasized its determination to secure an absolute majority in the state.

The meeting, chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, was attended by former party chief Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh Randeep Surjewala, and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath. AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal was also present at the session.

Kharge conveyed, “In Madhya Pradesh, the youth, women, Dalits, tribals, and backward classes will soon receive justice. The BJP’s unjust actions, oppression, and corrupt mismanagement over the past 18 years will come to a complete halt,” in a post in Hindi on social media.

He further stated, “This time, the public will not permit the surreptitious formation of an undemocratic BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. This time, the betrayers will receive a fitting response. The Congress party is progressing toward a full majority.” Kharge highlighted the essential meeting of the Central Election Committee focused on Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh is set to hold elections on November 17, with the results scheduled to be announced on December 3.
