Mega Cleanliness drive held across District Doda under nationwide Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign

Appeal public to make cleanliness habit in Life for healthy environment

Bhaderwah: With an aim to spread message of cleanliness and to participate in nationwide Shramdaan campaign under Swachhta Hi Seva programme, PRI members and public along with different departments organised mega cleanliness drive across District Doda on Sunday.

Cheif Agriculture Officer(CAO) Doda Anil Gupta, who was visiting officer of Drudhu panchayat lead the campaign along with Award winner Sarpanch Drudhu Panchayat Ashok Sharma at Drudhu area of Bhaderwah.

Huge participation of PRI members, officers and officials of all departments, Govt Higher Secondary School Staff & children, beside a large number of general public also participated in the mega cleanliness drive to pay tributes to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

The Swachta drive was started from Government Higher Secondary School Drudhu, where Swatchhata, Non-Violence and Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge was also administered to all participants by the visiting officer.

After cleaning School premises, the participants took out swatchta rally towards Neeru Nallah, where all participants cleaned the river Neeru.

The drive was also conducted in Wellness Center Drudhu and Herbal Garden.

Anil Gupta, Visiting Officer, said that on the call of our PM Narendra Modi ji, we participated in mega cleanliness drive in Drudhu Panchayat of Additional district Bhaderwah with Tag Line ‘Swachhta a habit for healthy living’ to spread the message of healthy environment.

Award winner Sarpanch Ashok Sharma said that Swachta Hi Seva is not just about picking up litter, but about changing our mind set towards cleanliness.‘Swachhata hi Seva’ 2023 is a moment of celebration. It is a time to reaffirm ourselves to the cause of keeping our cities and villages clean.

It is notable that ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign is an accelerated nationwide cleaning campaign that was launched to mobilise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and to provide sustainable sanitation services for all citizens.

Meanwhile due to careless and casual approach of some staff members of Government Higher secondary school Drudhu, out of about 350 enrollment, only 8-10 students participated in the nationwide event.

Meanwhile Doda Administration is continuously holding Swachhta camps and events showcasing the importance of cleanliness across the district as a part of the nationwide Swacchta Hi Sewa campaign.

On the call of Hon’ble PM of Bharat, Doda administration made an appeal to the PRIs and Public to participate in the One-Hour Shramdaan on first of October from 10am to 11am, to which people from all walks of life responded enthusiastically.

Major events include cleaning of Neeru Nallah from the Bhaderwah near ADC office to Pul Doda. The cleaning of Neru was led by Administrative Secretary Revenue Dr Piyush Singla along with ADDC Doda Pran Singh, ADC Bhaderwah Choudhary Dil Mir, BDC chairman Omi Chand, DDC Councillor Thakur Yudhvir Singh, other officers and large gathering of public of all age groups and genders from adjoining habitations of the river. Other events in the district include cleaning of offices, market places, municipal wards, towns, educational institutions, panchayat ghars, panchayat wards, Anganwadi Centres and all the tourist destinations of the district.
