Former AICC President and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to hold his inaugural public rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on September 30.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has announced that Rahul Gandhi will address a campaign rally in the Kalapipal constituency located in Shajapur district.
MPCC’s General Secretary, Rajiv Singh, stated, “Rahul Gandhi will be commencing his poll campaign in Madhya Pradesh with a rally in Kalapipal. In 2018, the people of Madhya Pradesh wholeheartedly supported him, leading to the Congress forming the government after a 15-year hiatus.” Rajiv Singh added that Rahul Gandhi is expected to address additional public rallies in Madhya Pradesh, with dates and locations to be determined once the election schedule is released.
It’s worth noting that in the 2018 elections, the Congress secured victory in two out of three assembly seats in Shajapur district, including Kalapipal.
Moreover, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has informally taken charge of the party’s campaign in Madhya Pradesh, having kickstarted the election efforts in July with a rally in Jabalpur. So far, Priyanka Gandhi has addressed three public rallies in the state. Meanwhile, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge has also addressed a public rally in Sagar.
