Prime Minister’s Gujarat Visit Today: Unveiling a Range of Inaugural Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat from September 26th to 27th, 2023, where he will inaugurate several crucial projects and partake in the festivities surrounding the 20th anniversary of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

On September 27th, the Prime Minister will join a special program commemorating two decades of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. The event, set to take place at Science City, Ahmedabad, will witness the participation of industry leaders, trade and commerce luminaries, aspiring young entrepreneurs, and students from higher education institutions, among others.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, initially launched under then Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on September 28, 2003, has grown into one of India’s foremost business gatherings. From around 300 international participants in its early years, the summit evolved to attract thousands of delegates from over 135 countries in 2019. Over the past two decades, it has shifted its focus from “Making Gujarat the Preferred Investment Destination” to “Shaping a New India.”

In a significant boost to Gujarat’s school infrastructure, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 4,500 crore under the ‘Mission Schools of Excellence.’ These projects encompass the construction of thousands of new classrooms, smart classrooms, computer labs, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) facilities, and other critical upgrades across Gujarat’s schools.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0,’ an extension of the successful ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra’ initiative, which has consistently monitored schools and improved student learning outcomes in Gujarat. ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0’ will establish such centers in all districts and blocks of the state.

During the program, the Prime Minister will dedicate numerous development projects to the nation, including a new bridge spanning the Narmada River on the ‘Odara Dabhoi-Sinor-Malsar-Asa road’ in Taluka Sinor, Vadodara district; the redevelopment of Chab Talav; a water supply project in Dahod; approximately 400 newly constructed houses for economically disadvantaged individuals in Vadodara; a Village Wi-Fi project encompassing 7,500 villages across Gujarat; and the newly constructed Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Dahod.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Chhotaudepur water supply project, a flyover bridge in Godhra, Panchmahal, and an FM Radio studio in Dahod, as part of the Central Government’s ‘Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND)’ scheme.
