Mandla (MP), September 5th – Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday, accused the Congress of engaging in “minority appeasement” and highlighted that the BJP government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, prioritizes the welfare of tribals, Dalits, the impoverished, and disadvantaged communities.
Shah also expressed his confidence that the BJP would secure more than 150 seats in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, scheduled for November this year. He delivered this message during a public rally as part of the BJP’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra,’ a mass-contact program, held in Mandla of the Mahakaushal region.
Citing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement that minorities should have the foremost claim on resources, Shah noted that the Congress leaned heavily towards “minority appeasement.” However, he underlined that the situation changed when Modi assumed office as Prime Minister in 2014. Shah emphasized that after becoming Prime Minister, Modi vowed that his government would work for the welfare of tribals, Dalits, the poor, and the backward classes, who rightfully deserve access to resources.
“Now, you have to choose between these two ideologies,” stated the Union Minister. Shah underscored that during the nine years of BJP rule, the Modi government at the Centre had diligently worked for the betterment of these marginalized sections.
He pointed out that the budget for tribal welfare had been substantially increased to Rs 1.19 lakh crore by the Modi government, compared to Rs 24,000 crore during the Manmohan Singh government.
The BJP is launching ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatras’ from five different locations in Madhya Pradesh, with these programs concluding on September 25th in Bhopal with a ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh.’ Prime Minister Modi is expected to address BJP workers in the state capital on that day, as per party officials.
Following his engagement in Mandla on Tuesday, Shah is scheduled to head to Sheopur in the Gwalior-Chambal region. There, he will address another public rally after inaugurating another ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra,’ as announced by a party spokesperson.
