Kashmir : The esteemed 71st Miss World 2023 beauty competition is scheduled to take place in Kashmir later this year, featuring participation from 140 countries. The decision to hold the event in Kashmir was attributed to the G20 meeting held in the region in May.
This announcement was made during a press briefing held over breakfast in Srinagar on Tuesday. Present at the briefing were notable figures including Miss World Karolina Bielawski, Miss India Sini Shetty, Miss World Caribbean Emmy Pena, Miss World England Jessica Gagen, Miss World America Shree Saini, and Miss Asia Pricilia Carla Saputri Yules.
Speaking about the decision, Karolina Bielawski expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome received in India and specifically in Kashmir. She emphasized that Kashmir’s natural beauty and exceptional hospitality make it an ideal location for hosting an event of this stature.
Sini Shetty, Miss India, proudly stated that hosting Miss World 2023 in Kashmir is a moment of pride for India, comparing it to the festive atmosphere of Diwali. She highlighted the sense of unity as 140 countries gather as one family for the occasion.
The pageant winners, along with other dignitaries, enjoyed breakfast at a local five-star hotel during the event. Rouble Nagi of Rouble Nagi Art Foundation and Chairman of PME Entertainment in India, Jamil Saidi, were also present at the gathering.
Miss World America, Shree Saini, and Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization, were part of the pageant winners’ tour of Kashmir. This occasion marks India’s return as the host of the pageant after nearly three decades, with the previous event being hosted in 1996.
