A bomb threat call received at a call center run by the AGMR Group raised alarms for a scheduled Delhi-Pune Vistara flight. The call center, situated in Gurugram, was alerted to the threat, prompting swift action by security agencies and authorities.
Following the threat, the aircraft bound for Pune was immediately isolated for comprehensive inspection by security agencies. The primary concern was to ensure the safety of passengers and crew members. Despite the apprehension caused by the threat, the inspection process yielded no findings of suspicious items on board, providing a sigh of relief to all parties involved.
The scheduled departure of the flight from Delhi airport was at 8:30 am, making the bomb threat call a cause for heightened alertness. An official security agency source confirmed the incident, stating, “UK-971 Delhi to Pune flight received bomb threat at GMR call center in Gurugram.” This incident highlighted the need for robust security measures in the aviation industry to address potential threats promptly.
With more than 100 passengers on the aircraft, a prudent decision was made to de-board all passengers’ luggage as part of safety protocols. Passengers were relocated to the terminal building and offered refreshments during this precautionary phase.
