In anticipation of the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections, the state’s BJP party revealed its strategic approach by announcing the creation of two committees.
The BJP unveiled the establishment of the state BJP unit’s election manifesto committee and the Rajasthan election management committee.
Heading the Rajasthan BJP’s state manifesto committee will be Lok Sabha MP Arjun Ram Meghwal, alongside co-conveners Lal Meena, Alka Gurjar, Ravi Rajendra Singh, Subhash Maurya, Prabhu Lal Saini, and Rakhi Rathore. For the Rajasthan BJP’s state election management committee, Narayan Pancharya will take on the role of coordinator, supported by six co-coordinators.
Notably, the name of BJP National Vice-president and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was not listed in either of the Committees.
In response to queries about Vasundhara Raje’s absence from the committees, Union Minister and Rajasthan election in-charge Prahlad Joshi assured that she remains a highly esteemed leader within the party. He emphasized that Raje has been engaged in numerous programs and will continue to play a vital role in the party’s future activities.
Rajasthan is slated for elections later this year, pitting the BJP against the incumbent Congress in a direct contest. In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP secured 73 seats in the 200-member assembly. Ultimately, with the support of Independents and the BSP, the Congress, led by Ashok Gehlot, established the government.
