Charri Mubarak Reverently Transported to ‘Sharika Bhawani’ Temple in Srinagar for Devotion

Srinagar : On August 17th, in observance of “Shravan Shukla Paksha Pratipada,” the revered silver mace, Charri Mubarak, of Swami Amarnath was ceremoniously transported to the ancient ‘Sharika-Bhawani’ Temple in Srinagar. Led by Mahant Deependra Giri ji, the custodian of Charri Mubarak, the procession proceeded to the Hari Parvat temple to offer reverence to the Goddess, following age-old traditions.

A considerable gathering of Sadhus and devotees enthusiastically participated in the ‘Pujan,’ a ceremonial worship that extended for over 90 minutes. The Goddess ‘Sharika-Bhawani,’ also known as ‘Tripursundari’ among mystics, is revered as the ‘Isht Devi’ (Presiding Deity) of Srinagar city. It is believed that she manifested herself in the form of a ‘Shila’ (Holy Rock) on Hari-Parvat.

The upcoming ‘Chhari-Sthapana’ ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at the Shri Amareshwar Temple in Srinagar. Subsequently, the traditional ‘Chhari-Pujan’ will take place on the occasion of ‘Nag-Panchami’ the following Monday, as stated in an official statement.

The annual Amarnath yatra, spanning 62 days, commenced on July 1 and is set to conclude on August 31. Over this period, more than 4.30 lakh pilgrims have offered their respects at the sacred cave shrine of Amarnath in the Kashmir Himalayas.
