In a fiery retort, AAP’s Raghav Chadha has confronted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over allegations of ‘forged signatures,’ vehemently refusing to let his voice be suppressed. Chadha’s forceful response comes as he challenges the BJP to substantiate their claims by revealing the alleged paper containing the forged signatures.
Taking a determined stance, Chadha announced his intention to take the matter to both the Committee of Privileges and the court of law. He emphasized that false propaganda was being spread regarding the necessity of signatures and written consent for the nomination of Select Committee members in the Rajya Sabha. Chadha cited the Rajya Sabha rule book, asserting that such signatures are not required.
Addressing the press, Chadha expressed his resolve to uphold his integrity and confront these allegations head-on. He stated, “I will approach the Committee of Privileges and court of law against the BJP Lok Sabha members who levelled the false allegation of forgery against me.”
Chadha’s commitment to following due process is evident as he aims to clear his name through legitimate channels. Despite the intensity of the situation, he maintained his respect for the Committee of Privileges and the larger parliamentary process.
Challenging the BJP to present evidence, Raghav Chadha stated, “I challenge the BJP to show the papers that has forged signatures as alleged by them.” He highlighted that the official Parliamentary Bulletin makes no mention of forgery or fake signatures.
The ‘forged signatures’ dispute arose when Chadha proposed a Select Committee to examine the Delhi Services Bill. Five Rajya Sabha MPs, including members from BJP, AIADMK, and BJD, alleged that Chadha added their names to the proposed panel without their consent.
As the controversy unfolds, the matter has been referred to the Committee of Privileges for examination and investigation. Amid accusations and counter-accusations, this clash between AAP and BJP continues to captivate political observers, shedding light on the intricacies of parliamentary proceedings and the determination of political leaders to defend their integrity.
