In a significant move towards ensuring a grand and inclusive celebration of India’s Independence Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir chaired a pivotal meeting on Tuesday. The meeting, attended by senior administrative and police officers, focused on reviewing the preparedness for Independence Day celebrations across the union territory.
The discussions centered around the multifaceted initiatives planned for the occasion, including the impactful ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ drive. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha underscored the importance of unified efforts and encouraged everyone to work as a cohesive unit to ensure the success of these endeavors.
“I am confident that this year too, people in huge numbers will participate in Independence Day events,” stated Lt. Governor Sinha, reflecting his optimism about the enthusiastic engagement of the citizens in the celebrations.
One of the key directives from the meeting was to involve various sections of society in the celebrations. Lt. Governor Sinha emphasized active participation from common citizens, public representatives, youth clubs, civil society, self-help groups, NCC scouts and guides, army veterans, ex-servicemen, prominent citizens, and educational institutions. He highlighted that Independence Day celebrations transcend beyond a mere government function, representing the spirit of unity and shared emotion that resonates throughout the entire nation.
In his quest to honor the contributions of national heroes, Lt. Governor Sinha suggested that the Culture Department create monographs on martyrs. Additionally, he directed efforts towards illuminating prominent buildings, tourist spots, and border villages with the tricolor. Activities paying tribute to eminent personalities who played pivotal roles in nation-building were also discussed during the meeting.
Apart from reviewing the preparations for Independence Day, the meeting delved into the progress of ongoing development projects. District administrations provided updates on the measures taken to meet their respective targets, ensuring a holistic approach to both celebrations and developmental initiatives.
As the nation eagerly awaits the 75th Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir’s resolute efforts under the guidance of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha promise a celebration that truly embodies the essence of unity, diversity, and collective pride.
