J&K, August 3: In a recent statement, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh accused the Abdullahs and Muftis of exploitation in Jammu and Kashmir under the garb of Article 370. He praised the Supreme Court for safeguarding the rights of deprived individuals post Article 370’s abrogation..
Chugh highlighted that the people have now realized how the political leaders kept them in the dark and allegedly played into the hands of Pakistan’s ISI, hindering the development and progress of the region. He questioned their claims of working for justice, stating that women in J&K and various vulnerable populations, including Paharis, Valmakis, SCs, STs, and West Pakistan refugees, were deprived of their rights under the provisions of Article 370.
According to Chugh, Article 370 has been the biggest obstacle to the development of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly for the weaker sections of society. However, since the abrogation of Article 370, a new era has dawned upon the Union Territory, witnessing significant progress and welfare initiatives for the people.
He further praised the transformative changes in Jammu and Kashmir, where the focus has shifted from terrorism to tourism, and from violence to education and development. With the removal of Article 370, the region has witnessed a positive shift, providing opportunities for growth and prosperity.
The Supreme Court’s role has been instrumental in ensuring justice and safeguarding the rights of those who were previously deprived. As a result, Jammu and Kashmir have taken significant steps towards progress, witnessing a surge in developmental activities and public welfare measures.
The transformation of J&K into a Union Territory has opened new avenues for growth and development, and the people have shown enthusiasm in embracing these changes. The region is witnessing greater participation in education, increased tourism, and a focus on overall well-being.
As the region moves forward, the focus remains on inclusive growth, empowering all sections of society, and ensuring that the developmental benefits reach the grassroots level. The efforts to uplift the weaker sections of society and foster an environment of prosperity continue with the support of the government and the resilience of the people.
