Tamil Nadu,July 29: A devastating tragedy struck Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district as a firecracker blast storage godown exploded, resulting in the loss of at least nine lives and leaving around 10 people injured. The heart-wrenching incident occurred on the road leading to the Murugan Temple in Palayapetta on July 29, causing shock and grief among the local community and beyond.
Following the blast, rescue teams and authorities swiftly responded to the scene to assess the situation and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured. The godown owner, Ravi, his wife Jayashree, and their children Ruthikka and Ruthish were among the victims who tragically lost their lives in the explosion. The devastating impact also claimed the lives of restaurant owner Rajeshwari, welding shop owners Ibrahim and Imran, and Sarasu and James, who worked in a water company.
The explosion caused extensive damage to nearby houses, and concerns have arisen that several people might be trapped in the collapsed structures. Rescue efforts are ongoing, and the death toll is expected to rise as officials continue their assessment and search for survivors.
