J&K Baramulla,July 25:Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with security forces, achieved a significant breakthrough in their ongoing efforts to combat terrorism by apprehending two terrorist associates linked to the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The successful operation unfolded in the Chak Tapper area of Kreeri Baramulla, where the law enforcement agencies established a motor vehicle checking point (MVCP) at Bus Stop Chak Tapper Kreeri based on specific intelligence about terrorist movement in the region.
During the vehicle check, the joint team intercepted and tactfully arrested two suspicious individuals who attempted to flee upon noticing the checkpoint. However, the swift action of the security personnel led to their prompt capture. A subsequent personal search of the suspects revealed a startling discovery – they were in possession of two Chinese Pistols, two Pistol Magazines, 14 live Pistol rounds, and other incriminating materials.
The arrested individuals were identified as Dayem Majeed Khan, a resident of Check Panjigam Bandipora, and Ubair Tariq from Watrina Phalwanpora Panjigam Bandipora. During preliminary questioning, the duo confessed that they were functioning as terrorist associates for the LeT, and their objective was to procure arms and ammunition for executing targeted killings in District Baramulla.
