Jammu ,July 25:In a commendable display of vigilance and action, the Border Security Force (BSF) troops stationed in Jammu thwarted a narco-smuggling bid by neutralizing a Pakistani drug smuggler in the Ramgarh sector. The operation led to the recovery of approximately 4 kg of narcotics from the smuggler.
During the intervening night of 24th and 25th July, the alert BSF troops noticed suspicious activity along the Ramgarh border area. They swiftly responded and successfully neutralized the Pakistani smuggler who was attempting to smuggle the narcotics across the border.
Upon conducting an initial search of the area, the BSF discovered four packets of suspected narcotics, collectively weighing around 4 kg, alongside the body of the Pakistani smuggler. The BSF continues its diligent search of the region to ensure no other contraband is present.
In another significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police made a major breakthrough by arresting a notorious and highly sought-after drug smuggler, Mohammad Sharief, hailing from Hathlanga in the border area of North Kashmir’s Uri. The arrest took place during routine checking at Uri, where the police seized about 276 grams of heroin and Rs. 10,000 in cash from the smuggler.
The diligent efforts of both the BSF and J&K Police in intercepting drug smugglers and confiscating narcotics are essential in curbing the illicit drug trade in the region. Such proactive measures not only prevent the proliferation of drugs but also contribute to maintaining law and order.
