ISRO Achieves Success with Fourth Orbit-Raising Manoeuvre of Chandrayaan-3 Spacecraft

Bengaluru, Jul 20 : India’s space agency, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), achieved another milestone as the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft completed its fourth orbit-raising manoeuvre (Earth-bound perigee firing) from the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru. The upcoming firing is scheduled for July 25 between 2 pm and 3 pm, bringing the nation a step closer to the Moon on the occasion of International Moon Day 2023.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission, launched on July 14, has progressed smoothly, and ISRO Chairman Somanath S expressed confidence that the spacecraft will soon soft-land on the lunar surface. He emphasized the scientific significance of the mission and anticipated substantial findings through Chandrayaan-3 in the field of space science.
