Bhadarwah, July 15: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Doda in coordination with Roatary Eye hospital and Transport Associations conducted a Mega Eye Screening/ Checkup Camp cum General Awareness Programme for Commercial Vehicle Drivers at Kilometer Nine near Assar on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar NHW244 on Saturday.
The programme was managed by ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan.
The programme was inaugurated by SDM Assar Lekh Raj in presence of Dy SP Traffic Doda Baljeet Singh, SHO Assar Bhupinder Kumar, Eye specialist, members of transport unions, commercial drivers and general public.
The motive of camp was to facilitate the eye check up of the operators on Road and aware them about the regular checkup of their eye for safer driving and to avoid any mishappening.
The team of Doctors and other health staff conducted a general eye checkup and eye sight tests of all the Drivers/Cleaners who attended the programme.
Earlier, ARTO Doda welcomed the participants in the Eye Camp and extended gratitude to Management of Roatary Eye Hospital Udhampur, Traffic Police & Transport Associations for their cooperation in organizing the Medical Health Checkup Camp.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Drivers for their greater participation and told them that due to the over business, the drivers are not able to look after their Health and the basic purpose of the camp is to facilitate them.
He also briefed about the Road Safety Parameters to be followed by the Drivers and imparted awareness about the road safety tips and laws. He stressed upon the drivers to refrain from any type of Drugs/intoxicant substances for their own safety and Safety of the passengers.
Dy SP Traffic Doda also addressed the participants and urged the Commercial vehicle drivers to take care of their health and undergo Health Checkup on a routine basis. He stressed upon the need for safe driving and also talked about mental health.
