Police Arrest Shopkeeper For Selling Petroleum Products Illegally In J&K’s Baramulla

Srinagar, July 13: In a recent development, the police apprehended a shopkeeper in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district for engaging in the illegal sale of petroleum products at excessively high prices. The accused, identified as Mehraj Din from Tantraypora Palhallan, was discovered conducting unauthorized transactions at his shop in Pattan.

Upon investigation, law enforcement authorities seized a total of 187 liters of petrol and diesel from the shop. The illicitly obtained petroleum products were promptly confiscated as evidence. A case has been registered at the Pattan Police Station under relevant sections of the Essential Commodities and Petroleum Act. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
