New Delhi, July 07 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a visit to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. One of the significant highlights of his visit was the foundation stone laying ceremony for three National Highway projects as part of the Raipur-Visakhapatnam corridor. Additionally, PM Modi dedicated the newly doubled 103-km Raipur-Khariar Road Rail Line, costing Rs 750 crore, and the Indian Oil Corporation’s bottling plant in Korba, with a capacity of 60,000 metric tonnes per annum, constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 130 crore.
During his stay in Raipur, Prime Minister Modi also distributed 75 lakh cards to beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Subsequently, he proceeded to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where he participated in the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of Gita Press Gorakhpur and flagged off Vande Bharat trains at the Gorakhpur railway station. The Prime Minister’s final destination was Varanasi, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple projects.
Ahead of the visit, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally inspected the venues and reviewed preparations for the events in Gorakhpur. Accompanied by officials, he examined Gita Press and the Gorakhpur railway station, ensuring everything was in order for Prime Minister Modi’s participation.
The Prime Minister’s Office had earlier announced his multi-state tour, covering Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan, from July 7 to 8. The visit aimed to dedicate and initiate various projects amounting to a total investment of Rs 50,000 crores for the benefit of the people.
